Managing Director, Counsel One Immigration Services NZ

Brief Introduction
Himang is a former Immigration Officer with Immigration New Zealand who has been working in the field of immigration for the better part of a decade. Himang brings unparalleled expertise into the inner workings of Immigration New Zealand and the wider Government. Being a migrant and a migration expert gives him a sound understanding of the process, legislation, and emotions you will go through during the lifecycle of your application.
Quote: “Immigration is probably one of the most complex legislative processes an individual goes through. On one side you have the migrant who is trying to build a better life for themselves and on the other, you have the immigration office trying to apply ever-changing instructions
Himang ended up migrating to New Zealand as a teenager and after trying his hand at automotive engineering, he began a career in public service at the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment where he started as an Immigration Officer in 2014.
During his time in public service, he worked in various roles helping others as well as advancing his understanding of immigration instructions and processes. His unparalleled expertise also earned him the responsibility of training new employees for the Immigration Contact Centre (ICC), in addition, he also managed the Learning and Development portfolio for three ICC branches. These duties won him the Innovation Award from the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment and helped him build valuable relationships across the business. His commitment also helped him to advance to a People Leader position within the Ministry where he managed a team of service advisors.
Being an immigrant himself, Himang brings an empathy which helps him better serve his clients. He brings an immigrant’s zeal, which combined with his love for Aotearoa, makes him the perfect head of the New Zealand Counsel One office as well as the perfect person to help you navigate your immigration journey.
